Married At First Sight is back for its 13th season. Yes, we’ve really we’ve had that many.
It’s already been dubbed the best one yet, and bride Alissa Fay certainly had our hearts racing in the first episode.
The 33-year-old declared to her husband David Momoh, “I’m really, really sorry, I don’t think I can marry you.”
Of course, it was only a trick to get him to officially propose to her. But we’ve done a bit more of a deep dive into this MAFS bride.
Who is Alissa?
Hailing from Adelaide, 33-year-old Alissa is a nurse who has also expanded her career into social media.
Described as “everyone’s hype girl”, she wears her heart on her sleeve but isn’t afraid to speak up in relationships. In fact, her direct and sometimes blunt delivery is something she’s working on.
After experiencing burnout due to 10 years of full-time nursing, looking after children, Alissa became a qualified personal trainer and created her own training program, The Booty Academy.
“After getting my personal training qualification, I made it my mission to empower women to look fit, feel strong, and become confident in their own bodies, while living a balanced lifestyle between fitness and fun,” she shared.
The ex files
Until late last year, Alissa was dating fellow social media influencer Will Giles who is known as The Millennial Marketer to his followers.
The pair dated for six years and Alissa admitted that letting go of the person she thought would be her forever has been an emotional journey.
Alissa still has footage of Will on her TikTok and the most recent was a video of the two in Paris in August 2024.
“The city of love with my love,” she captioned the video.
The rejection we didn’t see coming
After confessing she couldn’t marry David at the altar, Alissa famously grinned and presented her left hand adding, “Not until you get on one knee and propose to me first.”
After some back and forth, David agreed and the two shared a passionate kiss.
But speaking to the Daily Mail, Alissa revealed she “didn’t tell anyone” about her plan.
“I was in the limo on the way in and I started to freak out. I was thinking, ‘What am I doing? Is this actually happening?'” she told the publication.
“I need something from my husband. If this guy isn’t going to get on his knee and commit to giving this thing a real crack with me, then I don’t want to waste any more time.”

The influencer has worked with companies including Southern Chery and Koala Living and has ovr 32,000 followers on Instagram alone.
