Australia’s Got Talent 2019: Who is Shane Jacobson?

Prepare to be in stitches!

Shane Jacobson has signed up to be a judge on Channel Seven’s Australia’s Got Talent, so expect the upcoming season to be sprinkled with hilarious one liners and cracking jokes.

“So happy that I can finally announce that I am part of the Australia’s Got Talent family with my fellow judges,” he wrote on Instagram. “See you all at the auditions!”

Joined by Grammy-nominated singer Nicole Scherzinger, My Kitchen Rules judge Manu Feildel and theatre star Lucy Durack, Jacobson— who scooped up an AFI Award for best lead actor as the “Dunny Man” in Kenny— is set to bring his expertise, energy and fun to what is undisputedly the world’s biggest entertainment show.

One of the busiest men in the industry, Jacobson’s credits include the animated Santa’s Apprentice, Hollywood blockbuster The Bourne Legacy, The Dressmaker and, most recently, Ladies in Black.

The 49-year-old has also hosted the Australian Film Institute Awards, Top Gear AustraliaThe Great Australian Bake OffThe Logies and Little Big Shots. 

In 2017, Jacobson married lawyer Felicity Hunter. Sharing a snap of the couple’s wedding bands, he captioned the Instagram post: “OK……….so this happened on the weekend!!!!”

Naturally, the way he proposed to his longtime girlfriend was absolutely hilarious! 

“I proposed in a restaurant but it was so weird,” he told New Idea. “So Tim and Anna from The Bachelor were at the same restaurant. Fliss was so excited and all I was thinking about was proposing. They rained on my parade! I knew she was going to say yes, but there was a lot of pressure on it.”
