They became two of the most revered players in Australian Survivor history when they made it known they were a package deal. And while Janine Allis and Pia Miranda experienced a number of highs and lows throughout the season, the Boost Juice founder says they still can’t get enough of each other.
Chatting to WHO.com.au after she was kicked off the Fijian island last night, Janine said she formed an unbreakable bond with the Looking For Alibrandi actress, admitting she trusted her implicitly.
“We hit it off from the get-go,” the Godmother told us.”When you are going through an experience where people lie and manipulate you all day, it’s nice to have someone you can trust… and I trusted her with my life.
“She was my moral compass and I was really lucky to find someone like that. She honestly kept me sane. And she was my snuggle buddy, too!”

Since filming for the hit series wrapped, Janine says they’re still the best of friends, admitting they’eve even discussed going into business together.
“We want to start a podcast or do a show together,” she said. “We literally speak every single day and our daughters are best friends as well. It is just so nice to have come out of that experience with such an amazing friend.”
While Janine was one of the strongest contenders we’ve seen to date, the former Shark Tank investor said her time on the show was fraught with seemingly insurmountable challenges.
“It was a ridiculously horrible experience, but I loved every minute of it,” she told us. “I went from living a comfortable life to starving myself on an island that was freezing cold.”
Although the successful businesswoman did copious amounts of research before flying out— including arriving in Fiji a day early so a local could teach her how to crack coconuts and start fires— she believes nothing could’ve ever prepared her for how barbarous the conditions were.
“I watched enough of the show to understand what It would be like but nothing prepares you for a storm that’s coming in sideways at two in the morning and you’re starving, freezing cold and wet to the bone. Even watching it back now, you can’t get the full impact of just how horrific it was. It was wild.”
In spite of all of this, would Janine ever return to the series? Without a doubt.
“My son actually applied last year but he was too late getting his application in. If they ran Survivor: Blood vs. Water next year, I would definitely consider signing up with him,” she said without thinking twice. “He’d do it in a second. He’s 22 and built like an absolute tank so he’d be perfect for it.”
Her only fear? He’d turn against her and vote her out!
“I think I would have to use my will as a method of bribery,” she said with a laugh. “I’d tell him if he didn’t vote for me, I’d remove him from the will! That’d keep him in check.”
