Led onto the stage by his proud mum, before performing his stunning rendition of the hit track, the inspirational 22-year-old explained to the panel of judges how he suffers from a rare eye disorder called Leber congenital amaurosis.

Paul then brought the house down, leaving Nicole Scherzinger in tears, while Shane Jacobson, Lucy Durack and Manu Feildel joined the crowd in giving the amazing vocalist a standing ovation.

While the Pussy Cat Doll’s singer held back tears, it was Lucy who was so moved by his performance, giving Paul the first Golden Buzzer of the season.
