While Richie Strahan was happy to “handball” his Most Hated Man In Australia title to Nick Cummins, we imagine Cassandra Wood will be stoked to pass the Stage-Five Clinger baton onto Rachael Gouvignon.
Despite being the third runner-up on Richie’s season of The Bachelor in 2016, Rachael marked her territory on Wednesday’s episode of Bachelor In Paradise – and she had no shame in her game.
Declaring Richie, “My Bachelor” the moment he walked into Paradise, she was already fighting with Cat and Cass for dibs.
“He’s the one that got away. When I saw Richie I couldn’t even breathe. My heart was physically beating,” she said, before giving herself a third-person pep talk.
“Rach, you’ve got unfinished businesses.”
Richie was firm when he told viewers he didn’t want to see any of his exes in Paradise, even muttering, “oh sh*t” at the site of Rach.
“You’ve changed you hair,” he said.
Turning to the viewers, he explained, “I’ve met Rachael before on my season of The Bachelor… yeah, umm, I don’t know how to finish that one… There’s definitely a lot of attractive women, a lot of different personalities.”
The focus then turned to Rachael telling the ladies the deal. “He was MY Bachelor. It’s the first time I’ve seen him since hometown dates. I’ve literally never even bumped into him at an event. And then MY Bachelor walks in… my heart was jumping out of my chest. He’s the one that got away… or the one that didn’t choose right” she explained.
Cat then revealed that she too was interested in Rich, while Cass said she found him to be easy on the eyes. “No, no, no girls. He’s MY Bachelor.”
In her piece to camera, Rachael explained to viewers, “Cat is interested in Richie, but she knows that he was my boyfriend. This could be mine and Richie’s second chance. I need to know why he sent me home when he did. I can feel this nervous energy. Richie told me that he’s not interested in Alex, to me, that gives me piece of mind.”
Unfortunately for Rach, Cat swept Richie away for a cocktail, and Richie admitted he felt chemistry with the feisty brunette.
