“The challenge for me always seems to be making it past the friend zone,” the 26-year-old Queenslander, who first appeared as an intruder on Nick Cummins’ season of The Bachelor in 2018, tells WHO.

“It’s really hard when everyone around you seems to find connections and you don’t – I’m starting to wonder why. I’m so happy for everyone who has found love on The Bachelor or Bachelor in Paradise – but I just want to feel loved too.”

It’s this heartbreaking honesty – as well as her quirky and fun-loving nature – that has made the conga-line loving “Litney” such a fan favourite.

“I gave myself that nickname,” Weldon laughs. “I guess it just means that I love to have a great time.”

Weldon says that if she leaves Paradise as a single woman this time around, she would welcome the opportunity to become The Bachelorette in the future.

“I am absolutely looking for love – that’s the only reason why I’ve returned to Paradise,” she says.

“If this doesn’t work out, I feel like, if you’re The Bachelorette, your odds of finding someone to love are extremely high – how could I say no to that?”

In 2018, Weldon’s time on The Bachelor was short-lived. In 2019, she fell hard for dancer Ivan Krslovic – and he seemingly felt the same until Tenille Favios arrived in Fiji.

He swiftly moved on with the new arrival, leaving Weldon feeling “blindsided” at the time. This year, she’s enjoyed friendly dates with Timm Hanly – and was ‘friendzoned’ by Jamie Doran.

Despite the fact she now says there are no hard feelings between her and the 40-year-old, her pain was all too real when Weldon confided on air “I don’t know what it feels like for someone to like me.”

Weldon admits that she’s worn her heart on a her sleeve while in Fiji.

“I’ve been very emotional and open, especially this year,” she says.

“I know we all say this but I really am there for the right reasons. I’m looking for someone to love and who’ll love me back. Watching my episodes so far has been hard, but it’s also been good for me because I’ve been 100 per cent honest and up front with how I’m feeling.”

So what is Weldon looking for in a match?

“I want a genuine guy, who likes me for me,” she says. Before she potentially signs on as the Bachelorette, Weldon’s not completely ruling out a romance in Fiji yet. “I could tell you that something happens for me – maybe – but you’ll just have to keep watching!”

Bachelor in Paradise: Sun., Mon., Tue., and Wed, at 7.30pm on Ten.
