Big Brother 2022 winner, Reggie Sorensen (née Bird) has broken her silence on claims the live finale was rigged in her favour.

Some fans were convinced the 2003 winner would take home the title again last night because she had, in their words, an “unfair advantage” over the other finalists.
Going up against newbies Taras Hrubyj-Piper and Johnson Ashak for the crown, some suggested ‘OG’ Reggie had 19 years to win Aussies over.

“They have no chance going up against Reggie, it’s practically rigged in her favour,” one wrote in a Facebook comment.
Another agreed, adding: “She’s had 10+ years to convince people to vote for her but they only had the last few weeks during the show. Not fair.”
But Reggie insists the show wasn’t rigged – in fact, she was convinced she had no chance of winning last night.
“I didn’t think I had it. I thought Johnson was going to honestly take this out,” she tells WHO exclusively.
“It was bizarre. I was really not expecting to win at all. I thought one of the boys was definitely gonna take this out, I was so nervous. So nervous.”

The 48-year-old was certain super-fan Johnson would win the popular vote with his story of being such a huge fan of the show for years.
She adds: “Taras, I think his gameplay towards the end turned people off him, but I didn’t think that I was gonna win.”
Fans weren’t surprised though, with social media exploding in celebration when Sonia Kruger called Reggie’s name and announced her as the 2022 winner.
There had been a massive push for Reggie to win, as she faced several heartbreaking setbacks after her 2003 win.
Despite taking home $250,000 in prize money, most of it was lost on a painful divorce and later a scam that saw Reggie tricked out of $40,000.

With two kids at home, one of whom suffers from cystic fibrosis, a second win will completely change Reggie’s family’s lives.
“This is going to be a deposit to try and get a home for me and my kids and I think people really wanted to see that happen and make it happen,” she says of the 2022 prize money.
“And the whole way through the show, in the back of my mind was the kids. I had to do this for the kids – and it’s paid off.”
