If you tuned into Australian Ninja Warrior this week, you might have noticed a familiar-looking face on your screen.
Sam Bramham, who competed in the paralympics for Australia in 2004 and 2008, gave it his best shot at the obstacle course earlier this week.
As it turns out, he’s graced Australian television before – in the 2014 version of Big Brother.
The 29-year-old lasted 37 days before he was voted out of the house.
Although the author and motivational speaker was eliminated from Ninja Warrior, he tells The Weekly Review he hopes his appearance on the show will inspire others with disabilities to put themselves out there.
‘I do hope that does encourage the disability community to give stuff a crack, too. It’s a great way to build confidence and understand what their bodies can actually do. I think the negative stigma that surrounds disability is disappearing and it’s because we are putting ourselves out there,’ he says.
