Taking to Instagram, Chandler Powell wrote of the momentous occasion: “She said YES! ❤️💍 Almost 6 years ago we met at Australia Zoo. I immediately fell head over heels for her kind and thoughtful heart that radiates so much light.
“Proposing in her very favourite place in the zoo, surrounded by animals, seemed like the perfect way to embark on this incredible new chapter in our lives. Bee, I love you more than anything in this world and I always will.”
After showing off a close-up snap of her stunning ring, she told her followers: “For those wondering about my ring, I’m so happy to share. My ring features a lab-grown diamond and is made with rose gold recycled metal. Chandler was incredibly thoughtful when he chose it. The ring captures the essence of who I am (with its vintage flare) and our life together with the twisted band and scattered diamonds.”
After announcing their engagement, a number of celebrities took to the post to share their congratulations, including Millie Bobby Brown, who wrote: “Aww congratulations and happy birthday Bindi.”‘
Australia Zoo added: “We’re so excited for you both! This is the best news ever!!”
Her younger brother Robert also took to his Instagram to share a picture with the bride and groom-to-be.
“I am beyond happy for you two. You are true soulmates and have always been so completely perfect for each other. Love you both and congratulations.”
The little girl who shot to fame as the world’s favourite Wildlife Warrior, following the tragic death of her father Steve, is all grown up.
Speaking at her birthday party, Bindi said she wished her late dad could be with her as she celebrated the milestone, with the Crocodile Hunter’s image a strong presence on her big day.
“What gets to me are those moments when I’d love him to be here to share what we’re doing,” Bindi recently told Stellar. “It could be when my brother is receiving an accolade for his photography, or it might be at the end of the day when we’re having dinner and laughing.
“I’ll think: ‘I wish Dad was here for this.’ But he’s just not there.”
But family had plenty of support on her big day, with Terri holding centre stage during a press stop amid the celebrations, pointing out how precious time is, as she sees her daughter grow into a woman.
