The Culture Club frontman shared the news on TODAY on December 8.

George, 55, has been a coach on season five of The Voice UK, alongside Will.i.am, Paloma Faith and Ricky Wilson.

“I’ve been talking about doing this show for a few years. They’ve approached me a number of times, but it just wasn’t the right time,” he told TODAY.

“But having now done it in the UK I feel ready to go now because I kind of understand now what the show is.

While George has been announced as the third host, there is still one spot left to be filled on The Voice Australia coaching panel.
