Brie Larson is the favourite to take on the lead role of Marvel’s first female superhero film as Captain Marvel, Variety reports.
Larson has proven to be a versatile actress. Her outstanding performance as the lead in Room won her this year’s Oscar for Best Actress.
The Captain Marvel character embodies powers of energy, flight and strength, created when her DNA was mixed with an alien’s DNA. This will be the first film to feature a woman as the lead superhero from Marvel Studios.
Given Brie’s outstanding body of character work, she’s sure to do the role justice.
As yet there is no director on for the project.
