Brooke Blurton completes hotel quarantine amid family tragedy

Bachelorette Brooke Blurton has completed her 14-day quarantine period in Western Australia, where she has returned in the wake of a family tragedy.

The youth worker, who made history this year by becoming the first Indigenous and bisexual Bacheloretterecently lost her sister, Ky.

She travelled from Sydney to WA on compassionate grounds in order to grieve with her family, where she had to complete two weeks of quarantine in line with COVID-19 rules.

Brooke has now finished her quarantine period, and celebrated with a dance with her dog, Cobar.

Cobar has seemed to have seen Brooke through this time, with the TV star posting a picture of him over the weekend, writing “This little bug getting me through probably another one of the hardest times of my life. 💛 how do we even deserve dogs? 🐕 #quarantineday13.”

Brooke’s fans shared their agreement, and support, in the comments.

Love you xxxx ❤️ we are thinking of you 🙌 🙏,” one wrote.

Oh those ears ! Sending love, light and strength ! You got this ! X,” said another.

“Dogs are the best for healing, they just know when we need them the most,” added a third.

Brooke also posted an update on her family tragedy the previous week, telling her followers that Ky would soon be laid to rest, and thanking them for their ongoing support.

“Love you,” wrote friend and fellow Bachelor franchise alum, Abbie Chatfield.

I’m so sorry Brooke 😭 what an absolutely horrible thing to have to go through. Thinking of you honey xxx” wrote former co-Bachelorette, Becky Miles.

Brooke shared the news of her loss a few weeks ago, taking to her Instagram stories to explain.

“I do like to think I live a very private life but I kinda felt like I wanted to share with you where I’m at,” she shared.

“On the 11/8 I had just received news that my sister passed away. I’ve been trying to process that on my own being stuck in a Sydney lockdown without my family, off-country, and by myself.

“I’ve thankfully had huge support from production and friends working tirelessly to get me back into WA.”

“I truly believe in life that when there comes good, comes bad. This felt like one of those moments, but I can’t believe the huge support I’ve had,” she said.

“I feel, honestly, so grateful. I wouldn’t be coping if it wasn’t for production, my friends, my loved ones and (my dog) Cobar.”

With Brooke leaving Sydney during the filming of the upcoming Bachelorette season, it’s unknown when we might see the proud Noongar Yamatji woman take on her quest for love.
