This year’s Married At First Sight has given us plenty of scandal, and now one more has come to light. Controversial groom Bryce Ruthven was once a secret actor – and wow, suddenly it all makes sense.

Per The Wash, an unearthed interview with the MAFS star in 2010 reveals he once was an aspiring actor-to-be. In fact, you might’ve seen his 20-year-old baby face on a little show called Home and Away.
According to a 2010 interview with The Morning Bulletin, Bryce Ruthven had a three month guest role on Summer Bay as Aden Jefferies (Todd Lasance)’s cousin.
“Soccer is my main priority at the moment, but if it doesn’t work out I will definitely keep pursuing acting,” a young 20-year-old Bryce Ruthven told the outlet at the time.
“I actually haven’t told my agent I’ve moved yet.”
Even weirder, it doesn’t sound like this was a one time thing. The article also revealed that Bryce trained at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney.
If you don’t know, the performing arts college has such famous alumni as Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette, Sam Worthington and Bridie Carter.
Elsewhere, he was a semi-finalist in the 2009 Next New York Model Search, and played lead roles in a feature film, a patient on Channel Seven’s All Saints and appeared in a Nokia commercial.
According to a screenshot of his LinkedIn, via The Wash, he also was a sports reporter for Seven’s Local News in Central Queensland, and a TV presenter on MTV.
Bryce is making headlines around the country due to his *interesting* marriage with co-star, Melissa Rawson.
After Bryce’s confusing decision at the commitment ceremony when he originally wrote leave, fans were flummoxed by his decision – so much so that former Bachelor star Matty J couldn’t resist making a hilarious skit about the actor-turned-reality TV star.
