Marvel recently announced some new additions to the cast for the upcoming movie, Thor: Ragnarok.
Cate Blanchett, known for playing Galadriel in the Lord of the Rings, will become mystical villainess Hela, whilst Jeff Goldblum is set to play the Grandmaster, one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe.
The introduction of 47-year-old Cate Blanchett as the villainess will be the first time the Thor franchise has a female character taking on the lead antagonist role.
Other additions include Tessa Thompson as hero Valkyrie, Star Trek’s Karl Urban as Skurge and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner / the Hulk.
Thor: Ragnarok is the third instalment of the Thor franchise and will also star Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba and Anthony Hopkins from the previous movies.
Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki in the Thor movies, is currently favourite to take play iconic, British secret agent, James Bond. The news came after Daniel Craig rejected an offer to continue playing Bond in the next two installments.
