It’s not unusual for kids to go into the family business, and it seems celebrity offspring are no different!
With Hollywood calling, these up and comers are following in the footsteps of their famous folks. And they’re definitely ones to watch in the acting and fashion worlds!
TILDA & HONOR SWINTON
With a mum like Tilda Swinton, a career in the arts was a natural choice for Honor Swinton Byrne.
And while there was surely a little bit of nepotism involved when the 23-year-old was cast as the lead in 2019’s The Souvenir and this year’s sequel – director Joanna Hogg is her godmother and Swinton, 60, also stars – considering she had no acting experience, it proved to be a path she was keen to take.
“It was an immediate ‘yes’; there was not a doubt in my mind,” Byrne said of the role. “I’d absolutely no idea what else I’d do.”
MONICA BELLUCCI & DEVA CASSEL
Unlike her screen siren mother, 56, and French actor father Vincent Cassel, 54, 16-year-old Deva has chosen to pursue a career in the world of fashion.
After strutting her stuff for Dolce & Gabbana in 2018, the brunette beauty was named the face of the house’s fragrance, Dolce Shine.
She also posed alongside her equally stylish mother for the cover of Vogue Italia last month, where Bellucci gushed about her daughter’s fearless personality.
“She’s been flying on her own since she was 13 and speaks five languages,” Bellucci said of the teen. “Did you see what she looks like? She is not afraid of anything.”
SEAN & DYLAN PENN
Despite being the daughter of Oscar winner Sean Penn, 60, and Golden Globe winner Robin Wright, 55, a career in front of the camera was never originally on the cards for 30-year-old Dylan.
“I just never thought of myself as an actor,” she told Vogue recently, instead telling her Hollywood heavyweight parents she wanted to direct instead.
“Both of them advised that I should know what it’s like to act before I direct, so I’d know what it’s like to be in the actor’s shoes.”
The young star took small parts in 2015’s Condemned and 2016’s Elvis & Nixon, before deciding she was ready to take on her first lead role in this year’s Flag Day.
The film – which her father directed and starred in, as well as her younger brother Hopper – premiered at Cannes Film Festival last month.
”It just felt right,” Dylan says of working alongside her dad on the film.
