For almost two decades, Amanda Seyfried has been one of Hollywood’s most well-known stars.
Despite achieving some of the biggest accolades in acting, the 39-year-old has kept her life away from the spotlight out of the public eye, with fans growing curious to learn more about her relationship with her husband Thomas Sadowski.
Is Amanda Seyfried married?
Amanda has been married to actor Thomas Sadoski since 2017.
The couple reportedly first crossed paths in 2015 while working together on the set of the off-Broadway production of The Way We Get By. Despite their romance initially being platonic, with Amanda dating comedian Justin Long and Thomas married to casting executive Kimberly Hope, the couple’s bond continued to strengthen and in late 2015, the pair reunited on the set of the comedy film The Last Word.
Speaking on the early days of their friendship, Amanda told ET, “[Thomas] never flirted, never disrespected his wife. That was another reason why I thought later on that I could marry him.”
After starring as love interests, the couple’s real-life romance soon began to blossom, and in March 2016, the couple confirmed that they were in a relationship.
“It was amazing. It felt healthy and freeing and clean. We can tell the story [of our relationship] without any guilt,” Amanda added.
Six months after confirming they were an item, Amanda and Thomas announced that they were ready to tie the knot, with sources confirming to People that the pair had celebrated their engagement in September 2016.
In March 2017, Thomas shared the exciting news on The Late Late Show with James Corden that he and Amanda had eloped.
“We just took off into the country with an officiant and just the two of us and we did our thing. It was everything that it should be. It was just the two of us talking to each other,” he shared.
Reflecting on their decision to keep their celebration low-key, Amanda later told PorterEdit, “I get married all the time. I was in a wedding dress last week! I always go to premieres where people take my picture. I just don’t care about all that stuff.”
Does Amanda Seyfried have children?
Amanda and Thomas are the proud parents of two children, daughter Nina, 7, and son Thomas, 4.
Nina, the eldest of the couple’s children, was born on March 24, 2017 – less than three weeks after Amanda and Thomas had eloped.
Speaking on their daughter’s arrival, Amanda told Dr Berlin’s Informed Pregnancy Podcast, “It was just perfect. It was quiet and beautiful, and it was the best moment of my life for sure.”
“[Thomas and I] knew that we wanted to be together and make a baby, but you know, sometimes things happen and it’s the biggest blessing in the world. We were so excited.”
Despite keeping the family life out of the spotlight, Amanda shared that her daughter had begun to recognise her acting career – especially her role in Mamma Mia!.
“My mum showed my daughter, and my daughter is now obsessed. Now, they’re starting to recognise me as Sophie, which is a little weird, but how beautiful. I don’t think she quite understands it, but she loves it,” she told People.
Three years after they welcomed their first child, Amanda and Thomas announced the arrival of their son Thomas on September 28, 2020.
Confirming his birth in a statement to War Child USA and INARA, the couple wrote, “Since the birth of our daughter three years ago, our commitment to the innocent children that are so brutally affected by conflict and war has been a driving force in our lives. With the birth of our son, the work of INARA and War Child has become our North Star.”
Unlike his older sister, Amanda revealed that her three-year-old was not as clued in on his famous family’s career choice.
“When I was on the Today Show, I was watching with him, and his reaction was sad,” she told People, adding that Thomas associated his mother being on television with her being away from home.
“He’s like, ‘Mama!’ and I was like, ‘Hey. I am right here.’ It doesn’t make sense to him and it shouldn’t.”
