From her early days as Offspring’s Nina Proudman to her dramatic performance in the 2024 thriller series Fake, Asher Keddie has continued to be one of Australia’s most beloved stars.
While her appearance on TV screens across the country may have captured the hearts of viewers, the 50-year-old’s acting career also piqued the interest of her husband, award-winning portrait artist Vincent Fantauzzo.
Despite starring in some of Australia’s biggest productions, Keddie has kept her romance largely out of the spotlight.
As the actor continues to dominate the world of film and television, we take a closer look at her life away from the camera.
Who is Asher Keddie married to?
Asher Keddie has been married to husband Vincent Fantauzzo since 2014.
Captivated by her performance on-screen, the celebrity artist contacted the couple’s mutual friend, The Great Australian Bake-Off judge Matt Moran, to see if Keddie would be open to him painting her portrait.
Fortunately for Fantauzzo, the actress agreed, with the couple’s romance blossoming from the moment they crossed paths.
Reflecting on their first meeting, Keddie told ABC, “I saw this really kind of chaotic, crazy, incredibly gorgeous guy. I was walking towards him and I absolutely felt connected on a level I’d never felt connected to anybody in my life.”
“I had just met my person. We were pretty much together after that,” Fantauzzo added and, two years later, the couple tied the knot on Fiji’s Turtle Island.
How many children does Asher Keddie have?
Asher Keddie and Vincent Fantauzzo are the proud parents of two sons – 10-year-old Valentino and 14-year-old Luca from Fantauzzo’s previous relationship.
The actress, who welcomed her first child aged 41, spoke candidly on her experience of motherhood to Stellar Magazine, sharing, “I didn’t think anything of being what apparently is an older mother. I felt the same as I did when I was 25… You realise that you’ve probably lived the majority of your life, but you still have young people there whose lives you want to live with them and watch.”
Discussing the balance between parenting and their respective careers, Keddie told WHO, “We make choices about how things are going to work, project to project, and how we can put the children first. Everything else falls around that.”
