Macaulay Culkin, a name etched in the hearts of many for his iconic portrayal of Kevin McCallister in the beloved Home Alone franchise, has had a career trajectory that often overshadowed his personal life.
Following his catapult to stardom as a young child and his subsequent highly publicised early life, the now 44-year-old actor has gone on to live a largely private life, not sharing many details on his current relationship or family.
However, since his rare outing with partner Brenda Song and their two sons as he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023, the public has once again become curious about his relationship history and family life.
Who is Macaulay Culkin married to now?
Macaulay is currently engaged to actress Brenda Song. The pair met in 2017 in Thailand on the set of Seth Green’s movie Changeland.
“People don’t realise how incredibly kind and loyal and sweet and smart he is,” Brenda said of Macaulay in a 2022 Esquire interview. “Truly what makes Mack so special is that he is so unapologetically Mack.”
“He knows who he is, and he’s 100 per cent okay with that. And that to me is an incredibly sexy quality.”
The couple have kept many details of their relationship private, but we do know they welcomed a son in 2021 and got engaged less than a year later.
“Macaulay and Brenda have loved being together as a family since welcoming Dakota,” a source told PEOPLE in January 2022. “The engagement is the natural next step for them. They are excited for their future together.”
Does Macaulay Culkin have children?
Despite not sharing any details on their first child’s birth at the time, Brenda did open up about parenting in an interview with The Cut in January 2022.
The actress discussed her and Macaulay’s “hands-on” parenting style and the difficulties that came with being a working mother, after she returned to film season two of Dollface just 12 weeks after giving birth.
“I had no idea what I was doing. I went back to work so early. It was harder than I thought,” she said. “I pride myself on always being first on set. So to be like, ‘Hey, I need 20 minutes to pump,’ was difficult.”
“The hours away from my son took a toll on me. Learning my own boundaries while trying to take care of my son and my family — that was hard. But I had a great support system and knew my son was taken care of; I just had FOMO.”
During the interview, Brenda also explained that Macaulay’s support and the couple’s good communication with each other made their foray into parenting easier.
“I think when you and your partner have kids, especially the first few months, you don’t have the patience to be polite with each other,” she said. “Being communicative when you need help is so important. Instead of having set duties, we just feel each other out. I’ll be putting my son down and my partner is like, ‘Let me feed the animals and get dinner ready.’ “
In March 2022, Macaulay’s brother, Kieran Culkin, confirmed that the pair had welcomed their second child together.
Speaking with Access Hollywood at the Succession season four premiere he said, “[They] live in Los Angeles and we live in New York. I have a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old, and as busy as I am, there’s just no getting on a plane and going, and same with them,” he said. “I haven’t met No. 2 yet. We just haven’t been able to figure that out.”
In December 2023, the family made their public debut with Brenda and their two sons joining Macaulay at his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.
Speaking directly to his partner during his acceptance speech, Macaulay said: “You are absolutely everything. You’re my champion. You’re the only person happier for me today than I am. You’re not only the best woman I’ve ever known, you’re the best person I’ve ever known.”
In the lead-up to the 2024 Christmas season, the Home Alone star told E! News that he and Brenda”go all out for Christmas in our house.”
“Right now, they’re at the magic age where they believe, and we want to nurture that belief,” Macaulay continued, adding, “I told them that I’m at Santa’s workshop fixing toys because that’s what I do for them at home. I’m so good that Santa Claus called me up to the North Pole. They’re totally fine with that.”
As the star of one of the most iconic Christmas films, Macaulay also revealed that Home Alone is surprisingly a regular feature for his kids during the holidays, however, they have yet to connect that their dad is the face behind Kevin.
“[Dakota] got up and just started doing the googly dance thing, and so I got up and started doing the dance with him. I already enjoyed doing it, but now it means something else… It’s going to blow their minds.”

Jordan Lane Price
Before meeting Brenda, Macaulay briefly dated singer and actor Jordan Lance Price.
PEOPLE reported that they spent Thanksgiving together in 2013 and the couple were spotted together numerous times, however, they never publically confirmed nor denied their relationship, with things fizzling out by 2017.
Mila Kunis
Macaulay dated actress Mila Kunis from 2002-2010. Despite their nearly decade-long relationship, the pair kept their relationship pretty quiet.
“We grew up together. You find a steady rock in your life and that’s all you need. We have our ups and downs, but work through them,” Kunis told Women’s Health in 2009. “I don’t know if I met him at 27 if it would have been a different relationship.”
In January 2011, news broke that the couple had split some months before. “The split was amicable, and they remain close friends,” a rep for Mila told Page Six at the time, however, seven years later, the actress admitted that she “f*cked up” the relationship.

In 1998, Macaulay married Rachel Miner, an actress, when they were both 18 years old.
Two years later, the couple separated, and they went on to divorce in 2002. “It is very amicable and they remain [the] best of friends,” their spokesperson said at the time.
