The pair, who first got married a year ago in a courthouse ceremony in New York City celebrated their nuptials for the second time in Mexico City, surrounded by friends and family.
Naomi’s kids Kai, 15, and Sasha, 16, who she shares with ex Liev Schreiber and Billy’s 20-year-old son William with ex Mary Louise Parker were all in attendance, as were friends Justin Theroux, Isla Fisher and Nicole Kidman.
“This is a reminder of what life’s about,” Naomi said during a speech posted to Instagram. “The affirmation of love being one of the simplest things, but the most important.”
How did Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup meet?
Naomi first met Billy Crudup on the set of the Netflix series Gypsy in 2017.
During the filming of the series, photos of the pair spending time together sparked rumours of an on-set romance and after six months of speculation, the couple finally made it official at the Vogue UK BAFTAs 2018 after-party in London.
The pair married six years later, sharing photos of their courthouse wedding with fans on June 2023.
The typically low-key couple attended their first major awards ceremony in January 2024 for the 81st Golden Globe Awards.
Speaking to Variety on the red carpet, the pair also teased that they may potentially co-star in a romantic comedy, with Billy joking, “I’ve always been great at those.”
“It’s never too late,” Naomi said on Live With Kelly and Mark the same month. “We found each other later than—late in life. It’s really a special thing.”
Who was Naomi Watts married to?
Naomi Watts was previously engaged to Liev Schreiber, an actor and director. After meeting at the Met Gala in 2005, the couple spent 11 years together, before splitting in 2016 amidst rumours Liev had become involved with the family nanny. Liev continuously denied the rumours.
The couple never married, but were engaged and shared two children together.
The couple broke the news of their separation in a 2016 joint statement shared with People. In an interview with People, Naomi and Liev released a joint statement: “Over the past few months we’ve come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple, it is with great love, respect, and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship.”
Who has Billy Crudup dated?
Naomi Watts’ husband was previously in a relationship with actress Mary Louise Parker. The couple were together from 1996 until 2003, before splitting when she was seven months pregnant with their first child.
Following his relationship with Mary, Billy went on to date his Stage Beauty co-star Claire Danes for three years.
He has also previously been linked to painter and actress Lauren Golloman as well as Jennifer Connelly.
