Sandra Bullock’s partner of eight years, Bryan Randall, has passed away at age 57.
Bryan died following a three-year battle with the neurological disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
“It is with great sadness that we share that on Aug. 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS,” Bryan’s family shared in a statement. “Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honour his request.”
“We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours.”
His family asked for privacy as they “grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan.”

Sandra and Bryan were first linked in 2015, shortly after she hired him to photograph her son’s fifth birthday party.
The pair remained largely out of the spotlight throughout their relationship, with Sandra once recalling how her partner’s “whole life unravelled” when he began dating her.
“He was so happy, but he was scared…I’m a bulldozer,” she shared during an appearance on Red Table Talk in 2021. “My life was already on the track and here’s this beautiful human being who doesn’t want anything to do with my life, but [is] the right human being to be there.”

Sandra and Bryan co-parented three children together, Louis and Laila whom Sandra adopted as a single parent, and Skylar, Randall’s daughter from a previous relationship.
“I found the love of my life. We share two beautiful children— three children, Randall’s older daughter. It’s the best thing ever,” she explained during her Red Table Talk interview.
“He’s the example that I would want my children to have,” she later said in an interview with People. “I have a partner who’s very Christian and there are two different ways of looking at things. I don’t always agree with him, and he doesn’t always agree with me. But he is an example even when I don’t agree with him.”

Bryan originally worked as a fashion model for luxury brands such as Hugo Boss and Saint Laurent. Later in his career, he transitioned into a photography career.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly referred to as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a degenerative neurological condition that invariably leads to fatality.
Rather than sending flowers, Randall’s family recommends contributing to the ALS Association and Massachusetts General Hospital as a thoughtful gesture.
