Coldplay have announced they will finish 2016 with stadium concerts in Australia and New Zealand.
Their Australian, A Head Full of Dreams Tour will begin in Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium on December 6, before heading to Etihad Stadium in Melbourne on December 9 and finishing at Allianz Stadium in Sydney on December 13.
Prior to Australia, the British band will also visit New Zealand and play at the Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland on December 3.
Coldplay’s A Head Full of Dreams Tour has been specifically tailored for big venues, so unfortunately we won’t see any intimate one-off shows. This is great news for fans wanting to see them back in the large venues.
“I think that not going on tour with Ghost Stories was one of the best decisions we ever made, because it gave us such pent-up energy in the studio and completely reignited everyone’s desire to go around the world and play music,” says Chris Martin. “A Head Full Of Dreams was written as a record to be performed live. We can’t wait to do that.”
2016 has already been a big year for Coldplay. They kicked it off centre-stage with Beyoncé and Bruno Mars at the Super Bowl 50.
In the audience for the 50th anniversary of the much-celebrated sporting event, was lead singer Chris Martin’s ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, 43. She watched and supported Chris during his performance from a VIP box with their two children, Apple, 12 and Moses, 10. Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy also joined the family in the VIP box for the event.
Since their “conscious-uncoupling” in 2014, Chris and Gwyneth still regularly take holidays and travel with their two children.
Just recently the couple celebrated daughter Apple’s 12 birthday with a trip to Disneyland. She posted the following picture on her Instagram of her and Chris waiting for Apple at the bottom of the Thunder Mountain ride. She captioned the post,
“When your parents can’t handle #thundermountain anymore so they wait for you at the bottom.”
