There has been a lot of controversy around attaining tickets to one of Ed Sheeran’s Australian shows and now his promoter has released a statement in a plea to keep his fans calm.

Frontier promoter Michael Gudinski revealed that more tickets for each show would be released in 2017 as the final stage productions at venues due to commence.

“People who are looking for tickets shouldn’t panic,” Gudinski said.

“The tour is still a long way off, there’ll be more tickets released. They shouldn’t resort to sites like Viagogo and Gumtree. All I can ask is for people to be patient.”

Sheeran’s three final Australian shows for his March 2018 tour went on sale on June 1 with Melbourne and Perth selling out and only limited tickets left for Sydney.

While tickets released for Brisbane show were added they sold out very quickly.

Fans were also on a mission to snap up pre-sale tickets online however it’s been widely reported that tickets at the rate of $165 were being resold on secondary sites for up to $2000.

“Something will be done about that eventually. They’re misrepresenting themselves. People that aren’t familiar with buying tickets for concerts get duped by it,” Gudinski said.
