“Well, that escalated quickly,” the 35-year-old Sunrise news presenter captioned the beautiful portrait which highlighted her growing belly. “Thank you so much for all the wonderful well wishes we have received over the past 24 hours. @neilwrites and I are overwhelmed with love. Thanks also to @chloepaulphoto for keeping our secret and for capturing this beautiful shot of my expanding waistline.”

Since sharing the exciting baby news with her fellow co-hosts Samantha Armytage and David Koch— who were both over the moon about the announcement— and the rest of Australia, Edwina told Sydney Confidential that not only is her bub due in December, but she can’t wait to be a mum.

“After three months of eating just cheese and dry crackers, it’s nice to finally be feeling great,” she told Confidential. “Neil is mildly terrified but we are over the moon and bracing ourselves for the next chapter.”

Edwina says the pair are tossing up whether to find out the gender of their first born or keep it a surprise.

This is the first child for Edwina— who is currently three months along— and her husband Neil Varcoe. The couple tied the knot just over a year ago on their property in Warramba near rural Lithgow, NSW. The Channel 7 journalist and her partner exchanged vows in front of their closest friends and family on April 21, 2018.

Edwina wore a vintage dress which has been worn by three generations of her family, including her much-loved Grandmother in 1944. The gown was altered by Melbourne couturier Sonia Cappellazzo, of Cappellazzo Couture.

The Australian media personality previously revealed to WHO that the dress was not made by a designer, but described the gown as “an old dress, vintage, country romantic.”
