We have four weeks, four days and 11 hours until the final season of Game of Thrones drops… Yes, I’m that weirdo who is counting down. Anyway, I’m going to assume HBO caught wind of the fact we are ALL growing impatient as the network just revealed the exact length of the first two episodes.
WATCH: Kit Harrington talks about how filming the final season ‘broke him’.
While the episode titles for the epic final chapter are being kept under wraps, according to the updated television schedule, the season premiere, which drops on April 14, will be 54 minutes long. The second episode, which will air a week later, will be 58 minutes long. Although the news echoes a few reports that suggested the first and second instalment would be an hour each, fans are reeling that multiple outlets (and sources) claimed the episodes would be “the length of a feature film.”
Despite people’s anger, HBO boss Richard Plepler has promised fans it’ll feel like they’re watching a feature-length film!
“It’s a spectacle,” he told Variety. “The guys have done six months and the reaction I had while watching them was, ‘I’m watching a movie.'”
Ugh.
