Game of Thrones stars Maisie Williams, 19, and Sophie Turner, 20, have cemented their sisterly bond with matching tattoos.
The British actresses who play sisters Arya and Sansa Stark on the hit show, got “07.08.09,” inked on their right forearms to mark the date they landed their respective roles.
Williams shared a snap of the pair to Instagram on September 14, which was also captioned with the meaningful date.
Williams and Turner both showed off their new tattoos on the red carpet of the annual Emmy Awards on September 18, with Turner revealing she got the ink in a peach colour to make it almost undetectable.
“I got it in peach because my mum was like, ‘make sure it doesn’t show up’,” she told E! News.
When asked about the meaning of the tattoo on Facebook, artist Miss Kat Paine wrote: “I’ll let [Maisie] post it first as she wanted to be the first to show it and don’t want to tell everyone before her 🙂 it was a matching one that Sophie got too x.”
On August 22, Williams finished reading Game of Thrones’ seventh season and tweeted: “S*** gets REAL. I’d start preparing yourselves now. Scratch that, nothing will prepare you for this. Holy BALLS!”
The hit HBO series scored more Emmy Award nominations than any other show.
Williams will compete against her castmates Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke (as well as Dame Maggie Smith, Maura Tierney, and Constance Zimmer) for best supporting actress in a drama series.
