George Michael helped a British couple have a miracle baby, after he paid for them to undergo IVF treatment, which has been kept a secret until now.

Back in 2010, Jo Maidment and her husband appeared on the UK’s Morning Show and spoke about how they were refused free IVF treatment. Yesterday she returned to the show to tell her emotional story.

Maidment revealed a couple of days after their 2010 appearance George Michael’s PA, Michelle, contacted them and said that a “businessman” wanted to help them out.

“I didn’t believe it at first… things like that don’t happen to us,” Jo said.

Michelle told them that the ‘businessman’ wanted them to have a baby. Although they had no idea who this man was, they agreed to it.

Unfortunately, after their first round of IVF, she had a miscarriage. The singer sent them a bunch of flowers, but did not reveal his identity.

They tried again after saving frozen eggs from round one and the couple’s miracle baby Betsy was born in 2012.

The late singer, who sadly passed away on Christmas Day, remained anonymous throughout the whole process until a couple of weeks after Betsy’s birth.

Maidment said that they received a massive bouquet of flowers with a card that read, “Congratulations to you both, lots of love to Betsy. Love from Michelle & George Michael (A.K.A. Anonymous) xx.”
