Engagement season is well and truly underway and, in exciting news, one of Gogglebox’s fan favourites has dropped to one knee.
Taking to Instagram over the weekend, Symon Lovett revealed he had proposed to his girlfriend Gabrielle Russo during the holiday period.
Sharing a stunning photo of the moment he popped the question, Symon penned: “Some people say New Year’s Eve is overrated, I disagree 💍 #engaged.”
Symon’s Gogglebox co-stars were quick to flock to comments to send their well-wishes to the happy couple, including Symon’s couch buddy Adam Denston, who wrote: “Yewwwwwwwwww! The absolute best.”
Adam then joked: “I thought we were the forever couple? 😢”
Matty Fahd also sent his congratulations to Symon and Gabrielle.
“Yehhhhhhhhh buddy!!! Best news mate. Congratulations to you both ❤❤” he wrote, with wife Sarah Fahd adding, “ Such amazing news! Congratulations.”
Equally excited was Isabelle Silbery who commented: “Yesssssssss I’ve been waiting for this announcement ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ congrats you two xxxx”
Meanwhile, Angie Kent commented:“❤ Congrats cuties!!!! Love seeing LOVE right now! We need more of it! Xx.”
While fans haven’t seen much of Gabriella alongside the boys on the Gogglebox couch, she’s been a fixture in Symon’s life for around five years.
“I’ve got my lovely girlfriend Gabriella,” Symon told WHO in 2018. “She is fantastic.”
However, he added at the time that it was unlikely Gabriella would join him and Adam as a permanent addition on the show, spilling: “She is not pushing for an intro onto the couch.”

While the many lockdowns across the country over the past two years have been difficult for many couples, the extra time together solidfied Symon and Gabriella’s bond.
“It’s been good for us in lockdown,” Symon told Foxtel in October. “It’s made us stronger – and I feel very relieved and fortunate to be able to say that. Otherwise we would have been in trouble and I may have been knocking on Adam’s door to stay for a few months.”
