They both looked fabulous on the night, but just days ago Grant Denyer and wife Chezzi did not expect to be at the Logies.
“Grant was still on crutches last week. So no, I didn’t think we would be here. Just the fact we are – I am feeling highly emotional,” Chezzi admitted. “It’s been a really tough journey. Lots of physio. And lots of love.”
Last month the Family Feud host barely walked away from a rally car crash in Victoria, being flown straight from the scene to the hospital. But that’s not stopping him, or his wife from stopping him, getting behind the wheel.
“It’s not really one of those things I can say, ‘I don’t want you driving anymore.’ We had to really discuss it,” Chezzi said. “It’s such a part of him. I can’t impose that ban on him.”
Denyer, who joked he was “high on painkillers” on the red carpet, is still suffering from the crash.
“I have a broken finger, dislocated thumb, broken coccyx, and my 18 month old daughter stood on my broken finger and re-broke it,” he said. “I cried. A lot. It really hurt.”
