It’s been weeks since Network 10 announced Dancing With The Stars had been axed but host Grant Denyer isn’t losing sleep over the matter.

Speaking with The Daily Telegraph on Sunday, the 43-year-old admitted he wasn’t surprised that the show had been pulled.

“It’s what happens in television,” he told the publication. “The only gigs that are a certainty is reading the news or hosting a morning breakfast show.”

“They’re the only bolted-on industry jobs; for the rest of us, shows come and go,” he continued. “It’s just the nature of the beast.”

The dad-of-two added that game shows are “cyclical” and will “no doubt come back somewhere else further down the track.”

The network announced the news in October, after months of speculation that the show wouldn’t be returning to screens in 2021.

“We have decided to hang up our dancing shoes, lycra pants and sequined jackets for the time being,” a spokesperson said.

“We would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to all those involved in the show, in particular Amanda Keller and Grant Denyer, who were fabulous hosts, as well as all the judges, dancers, the stars and of course the crew.”

The Gold Logie winner had been the host of DWTS since 2018, alongside Aussie fave Amanda Keller.

Sadly, this isn’t the first time one of the beloved TV personality’s shows have been canned unexpectedly.

Family Feud, The Great Australian Spelling Bee and Game of Games have all been dropped after a short stint on our screens in recent years.

It begs the question: is Grant set to hang up his hosting crown for good?

“I’m lucky to have a wonderful career in TV, but I’ve also been super hungry to learn a completely different skill and stretch the brain muscle again with a good, solid challenge,” he captioned a photo of himself flying a plane earlier this year on social media.

Grant and his wife of 10 years, Chezzi, are currently expecting their third child.

The couple made the exciting announcement via an adorable Instagram video featuring their two daughters, Sailor, 9, and Scout, 5.

“So, we have some news. Our mum is pregnant! And mum’s really sick. And she’s been resting for days,” the girls explained.
