Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle brand, Goop, is officially being turned into a television show!
Netflix has snatched up the new docuseries which, according to Variety, is set to air on the streaming giant later this year!
The show will consist of 30-minute episodes hosted by Paltrow and the brand’s chief content officer Elise Loehnen. Each episode is set to “utilise experts, doctors, and researchers to examine issues relating to physical and spiritual wellness,” according to Variety.
“The quality of everything that we produce is very important to her,” Loehnen said of Paltrow. “She’s always looking for white space. Whether it’s developing physical products or thinking of content. With this show, I think she’s only really interested in opportunities where we can uniquely be ourselves and do things potentially disruptive.”
Late last year, the 44-year-old Oscar winner chatted about what the show would entail.
“What we are thinking of doing is a TV show with the working title The Radical Wellness Show,” Paltrow revealed. “I would be going into the field and talking to any number of doctors, scientists, civilians, people in crisis in Flint, Michigan, where there is something to uncover and confront about wellness. We would want it to feel more Vice-y in its vibe, but we’re just in the brainstorming phase.”
Since then, we have even more information! The series will feature Goop staff members who plan to bring awareness to issues like mental, sexual and physical health, while also answering people’s questions about the brand.
While many can attest to loving the brand, Paltrow is often criticised for endorsing practices that professionals in the medical field have deemed ineffective.
“You can love it or hate it, but we’re building something that’s changing the world, and it’s irrefutable that the world is coming along with us,” Paltrow said.
