Hair transformations are practically a rite of passage for reality TV contestants. Take Martha from MAFS, for example, who traded in her long brunette locks for a peroxide blonde lob. Or, Clare Verrall (remember Jono Pitman’s bride?) who put “fire engine red” tresses on the top of our lust list.

Clearly, Heather Maltman has received the memo.
The Bachelor star looks totally different than she did while competing for Sam Wood’s heart.
Exhibit A.
Exhibit B.
No longer rocking the caramel brown balayage that became her trademark during filming, the 35-year-old took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a snap of her new 80’s-inspired mane.
“Happy birthday 8th of December b*****s. Have a kick arse day,” she captioned it. “Let the mane down and have a drink on me. And if I’ve just reminded you that it’s their birthday. Feel free to use this as a social media gift card for their special day you lazy f***.”
She went on to thank her followers for sending her their well-wishes.
“I have had a yummy day. Thanks to @bakesy01 and all my special amazing friends sending me love and fuzzies.”
In the smiley selfie, her air-dried hair appears visibly darker and is swept to one side.
Alongside a similar pic, the aspiring actress wrote: “Hi Heather, this is the 80’s, and we’d like our hair back please? Actually, that frost blue shadow and red lip belongs to us too. So. Just drop it back when you’re done. Thanks.”
Tons of her 41k followers complimented her new ‘do.
“I love this look on you xx,” one wrote.
“Stunning,” penned a second.
A third fan added “the bigger the better,” referring to her voluminous waves.
Her transformation comes more than a year after the podcast host shared that she’d sadly suffered a miscarriage via an interview with Daily Mail Australia.
“I want to make the process of falling pregnant, the losses and changes women go through physically and emotionally, more normal,” she explained.
Heather – who had been expecting her baby with boyfriend, Matt Baker – said she wanted there to be talk and less taboo around the subject of loss.
She announced the news on her Instagram with a post of her lying on a hospital bed, while Matt slept on the floor beside her.
“This man has been sleeping on hospital floors for me and taking me to the toilet,” she wrote.
“And not left my side for days. I’ve been in and out of Randwick for one of the saddest moments of our journey so far. It’s his birthday. And for his birthday. I will go into surgery. While he goes to work and comes back by the time I get out. He will wait by my side until I go under. And has been getting minimal sleep. He has been picking up my slack for work. And just been… f***ing everything to me. There was no podcast this week. And I’m so sorry to the over 4,000 people who listen in every week.
“I wanted to make sure to let you know what was happening,” she continued. “As you’re so committed to our stories. I wanted to be honest with you.”
