Australian-born rapper Iggy Azalea has announced the arrival of her first child with partner Playboi Carti.
The news has shocked fans, after the star not only kept her pregnancy hidden, but revealed she in fact gave birth to her son months ago.

Rumours of the 30-year-old’s pregnancy surfaced late last year, with US celebrity news site Hollywood Unlocked alleging the rapper was already 6 months along.
While neither Iggy, whose real name is Amethyst Amelia Kelly, nor 23-year-old Playboi (real name Jordan Carter) confirmed the news themselves, in April this year rumours were resurrected when mutual friend DJ Akademiks shared an Instagram photo congratulating the couple.
“Talked to some ppl… allegedly this is true. Congrats if it is,” he wrote at the time.
The star had a noticeable absence on social media between December 2019 and May 2020.
After much speculation Iggy, who was a judge on X Factor Australia, took to Instagram to share a message confirming the news.
And it looks like we shouldn’t expect any photos or details any time soon.
“I have a son,” she wrote on Instagram Stories.
“I kept waiting for the right time to say something but it feels like the more time passes the more I realise I’m always going to feel anxious to share news that giant with the world.
I want to keep his life private but wanted to make it clear he is not a secret & I love him beyond words.”
Congratulations!
