After Miguel Maestre was crowned the king of the jungle during last night’s episode, the reality TV star’s returned to the South African to congratulate their former co-star, telling host Julia Morris that their relationship continues to go from strength to strength.
“We’ve had a lovely time. We went on a little date,” the Geordie Shore alum revealed, referring to their safari date.
Ryan went on to say it was “much less stressful” being together while the cameras weren’t following their every move and even admitted they covered up their microphones when they tried to get it on!
Confirmation they’re more loved up than ever comes after a source claimed they were forging their feelings for one another in an attempt to grab headlines.
“Charlotte is only recently single so timing-wise, it worked out perfectly for them to get viewers invested in their pretend love story,” a spy told New Idea, adding that they coincidentally share the same talent agent. “Ryan is not her type at all but she knows the fans will love it.”
“Her whole career is based on hooking up on TV, she knows exactly how to win ratings,” the source added. “Ryan was also on Married at First Sight, so it’s obviously something he was open to.”
Ryan later cleared the air, telling 10 Daily: “I went in there as myself and I wouldn’t do anything for the camera.
“At the start of the show, when we first slept in the same bed, I said, ‘If you’re doing this for the cameras, I want nothing to do with it’. I’m not stupid. There are real feelings there, on my side definite feelings. I didn’t expect any of it but I’m very lucky. It felt like I had a loved one in there.”
