It’s time to talk about Perez Hilton’s overly strange obsession with I’m A Celeb co-star, Miguel Maestre.

After his shock elimination— which was met with a significant amount of backlash due to his weird behaviour— the gossip guru appeared on The Project where he literally sobbed while comparing the celebrity chef to both Oprah Winfrey and Madonna.
Yep, I’ll let that sink in.
Calling him “one of the most phenomenal, inspiring people” he’s met to date, Perez had to take a moment to compose himself as he gushed about his jungle campmate for what felt like the three thousand hours.
“I have met Madonna. I have met Oprah Winfrey. I have met some of the most phenomenal people alive,” he said through tears, as those on the panel looked visibly uncomfortable.
“He was home to me. He was healing to me. He is the heart of that camp, and I just pray that everybody watching today and every day gets it right and he wins,” the controversial columnist added.
It’s no secret Perez was guided by Miguel during their time in the South African jungle, even going into bat for him after he feuded with both Ryan Gallagher and Charlotte Crosby over a sliced banana. A day after his strange meltdown which no doubt rubbed his co-stars the wrong way, the diva didn’t seem too sad to be leaving his campmates behind, literally grabbing his bag and sprinting away as he simply said: “Adios. It was a pleasure meeting most of you. Bye-bye.”
Following his bizarre exit, many viewers took to Twitter to express their disgust, with one branding Perez “rude”, “disrespectful” and a “sore loser”.
“Jeez. What a poor sport, good riddance Perez,” one angry user wrote. “So bloody ungrateful and disrespectful. That was just plain rude.”
Another wrote: “That was just so very rude by Perez to just run out and say ‘it was nice to meet some of you’… like dude?”
“It’s time to spot putting Perez Hilton on reality TV shows,” a different viewer wrote. “He is a sore loser and has anger management issues. Overall he is an incredibly poor representation of the LGBTQI community.”
After sparking outrage, Perez set the record straight about leaving the camp so suddenly, admitting there was no hard feelings, he was extremely hangry!
“I could not run faster out of there.”
Yep, that was pretty clear!
“I was melting down because my brain is thinking it’s starving, and I was! I lost 10lbs (4.5kgs) in eight days,” he told 10 Daily.
