Although he spent seven years up until 2015 as the larger than life gossip guru on The Today Show, “People confuse me with Carson Kressley because he did I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here,” he said in 2017. “It’s very odd! I get that we both have big hair, American accents, and are a bit outrageous.”

Now they can add a stint in the jungle to their collective experience. This isn’t the first stab at reality TV for Reid, who began his career as an entertainment reporter in Seattle before moving to Los Angeles as a producer for shows like Access Hollywood and Entertainment Tonight. He raised $15,000 for Foodbank Australia on season 4 of The Celebrity Apprentice Australia and was the resident style guru on the home makeover show Domestic Blitz. Dividing his time between Australia and Los Angeles, he’s also a correspondent on Studio Ten.

Once in the jungle, he won’t have to look far for his professional idol: “I always look to Julia Morris as inspiration,” he said in 2017. “She was a stand-up comic, but now she’s the queen of television! She does it all.”
