Imogen Anthony has spoken out about her relationship with Kyle Sandilands on Big Brother VIP.
The fashion designer and model, is known in part for her eight-year relationship with Sydney-based shock-jock Kyle, who is 19 years her senior.
Imogen met her now ex at his 40th birthday party, and the two hit it off immediately.
Imogen soon moved in with Kyle, and the pair lived together in Dover Heights before purchasing a $3 million hobby farm in Robertson, in NSW’s southern highlands.
However, the end of their long-term relationship was announced by Kyle on his radio show in 2020.
While Imogen’s side of the story has remained vague, she opened up about the breakup on tonight’s episode.
She admitted that she’d had a dream about Kyle, and woke up ‘having a moment’ during the night.
Speaking to Jessika Power, Imogen confirmed the pair had dated for just over eight years.
“He was just working so much, it was just work, work, work, work, work,” Imogen said.
“I wanted to have kids, and we just kind of grew apart.”
Imogen added: “I’m thinking, like, what other choice do I have? This is the person I’ve been with for so long, of course I’m going to hang on a whim, maybe … do we get back together?”
“All of a sudden, things were too undeniable.”
Later, speaking to Big Brother in the diary room, Imogen admitted that she “wanted things that he couldn’t give me”.
“Money and fame isn’t the be all and end all of life. It’s nice, for a little while, but I want to have children that can run around with their father and not be put behind work,” she reflected.
“I want someone’s time. I’m not going to let someone else write my narrative for me.”
Kyle admitted on The Kyle and Jackie O Show in 2020 that the pair hadn’t been living together for a few months.
“It’s run its course,” he confirmed.
“It was just one of those things that was fun while it lasted and it was great, we enjoyed a lot of things about each other, but some of these things, they come to an end sometimes,” he later told Mia Freedman on her podcast, No Filter.
“It’s not as if we couldn’t get on. It’s just I was going into my twilight years, and she was just becoming a woman.”
