The spring baby is Jessica’s fourth with husband Christopher Gavigan. The couple will celebrate their 12th wedding anniversary on 22nd May.
Jessica’s mother Kate Capshaw who married director Steven Spielberg when she was 15. Together they co-parented 7 children, included two who were adopted. Steven is also the godfather to Drew Barrymore.
Promoting his film Bridge of Spies last year, Spielberg spoke fondly of his grandchildren to the Boston Globe, “Having seven children and now three grandchildren, they really keep you up to date with how they’re getting their information and what they consider to be their 21st-century value system. “
Jessica began playing Dr. Arizona Robbins on Grey’s Anatomy when her character guest-starred in 2009, creator Shonda Rhimes later added her as a permanent member to the ensemble. The pediatric surgeon has played a role in some of the most memorable Grey’s Anatomy moments, including an ill-fate plane crash where Dr. Robbins’ leg was severed and her character became an amputee.
