The 22-year-old musician, who shot to fame after winning Australia’s Got Talent back in 2011, just announced he’s gearing up to star in the upcoming season of America’s Got Talent: The Champions— a spin-off series that features some of the most memorable contestants from past seasons of Got Talent franchises.
“Surprise. America’s Got Talent: The Champions. Starts Jan 6th on @nbc,” he captioned the promotional poster of himself ahead of his highly anticipated series
Jack will star alongside three other Australians in the remake— cabaret performer Hans, seven-year-old comedian JJ Pantano, and strongman Eddie Williams.
Jack’s return to the spotlight in May came as a shock considering he’d disappeared from the public eye after taking out the title of AGT when he was just 14-years-old. Despite signing a lucrative deal with Sony Music and subsequently releasing two albums, after two years of “trying to make it” Jack decided to step away from the music industry.
Years later, after “falling back in love with music”, Jack knew it was his time to shine again.
“Singing is the only thing that brings me joy and happiness, and it’s been the only thing in my whole life that’s done that. I’ve needed these years out of the spotlight to grow up and be my own person and form my own views and beliefs,” he told WHO exclusively. “I haven’t really sung anywhere else apart from in the shower or in my living room for five years. I’ve kind of been on this journey, discovering myself as a person so I had to put music aside for a while.”
