If you noticed a lack of air time for The Masked Singer’s Jackie “O” Henderson on last night’s episode, you weren’t imagining things.
The 45-year-old radio and TV personality has revealed on KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O show on Wednesday why much of the footage featuring her never made it to air.
Jackie O explained that after munching down on a 80 seaweed snacks, she suffered water retention and bloating, causing her to look bigger than usual on camera.
“The next day, you wouldn’t believe it, the water retention in my body, I reckon made me put on 5kg overnight,” Jackie claimed.
The mum-of-one added that she could barely squeeze into the outfit she planned to wear that night but it was too late for the stylist to swap it for something more flattering.
“I was just busting out of this thing,” Jackie continued. “You couldn’t control my boobs. They’d gone up two sizes and my face was bloated. I died.”
Apparently the change in Jackie’s appearance didn’t go unnoticed by her co-stars – particularly fellow judge Dave Hughes.
Jackie revealed: “Hughesy was looking at me strangely, like, ‘what the hell’s happened to you?’”
Since the mishap, Jackie has vowed to never touch a seaweed snack again.
It comes after Jackie confessed to juggling an “insane” schedule as she films The Masked Singer while also continuing to record her Sydney radio show with Kyle Sandilands.
“I’m up super-early to do the radio show and then it’s straight into hair and makeup before filming The Masked Singer for the next 10 hours,” she told Who last week.
“But I love it. This is a job that doesn’t feel like work at all, it’s so much fun.”
However, Jackie said it was being away from her eight-year-old daughter Kitty that was the toughest aspect about filming the show.
“My daily schedule is pretty gruelling right now but by far the hardest thing for me was leaving Kitty at home,” she said.
“I’ve only been away from her for a week at the most, and this time I’ll be away for three and a half weeks,” Jackie added.
“It was the one thing that made me unsure about going ahead with doing the show again because, once coronavirus worsened in Melbourne, I knew she wouldn’t be able to come down for weekends. I’m gutted – and she is too, because last year she was on set and she loved the show. She became friends with Dannii’s son Ethan and they’d hang out.”
