In a move that has shocked fans, Jesinta Campbell and Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin tied the knot in a secret ceremony.
The model and TV presenter took to Instagram to share a sweet snap of the couple on their special day captioned ‘Mr & Mrs Franklin’. It appears Campbell has already taken the Franklin name having updated her social account to reflect the change.
Captioned simply ‘My Love’ the Sydney Swans star shared the same photo to his own Instagram account.
The pair were engaged in 2014 but delayed their wedding plans to focus on the mental health issues that led to Franklin taking a break from the AFL.
But Australia’s darling couple has been staunch in their support of one another in the face of adversity. “This year was really focusing on his health and his happiness,” she says. “As hard as it was to go public with [his struggles], if we can take some of the pain and hurt from everyone else then that’s one small thing we’ve done. We’ve come along way in 12 months and I’m really proud of him. He’s kicked arse this year.”
