Less than a day after filing for divorce, Meghan King Edmonds publicly suggested her husband Jim’s alleged infidelity spelled the end of their five-year marriage.

Replying to a comment on one of her latest Instagram posts, the former Real Housewives of Orange County star seemingly confirmed he’d engaged in a secret affair with their children’s nanny, Carly Wilson.
Since her stunning allegation made headlines, Jim has launched a bitter and very public attack on his estranged wife, refuting her “disgusting and irresponsible” claims.
“It’s one thing to be accused of something. It’s another thing to be so negligent and so careless, and ruin the lives of innocent young people,” the professional baseball player wrote in a scathing post hours before Carly echoed a similar sentiment. “I did not sleep with our nanny. She’s not just a nanny, she is someone that we brought into our house and promised to protect and look after while she was in our home. We have been treating and raising this young girl like she is our own child!”
“For someone to accuse me of sleeping with her is not only wrong, it’s disgusting and irresponsible,” he added. “Just because I am an athlete and I was portrayed as a bad person on Bravo TV. Doesn’t mean I don’t have a clue what life is all about. We made a promise to that young girl’s mom that we would take care of her and make sure that she was safe while she was in our hands.”
Jim continued: “I will not sit here and take this bulls**t without fighting back. Just because you’re extremely witty and intelligent, and know how to play the Instagram game. Doesn’t give you the right to use that platform to wrongfully accuse. Not only is it irresponsible. It is dangerous and puts my family in harm’s way.
“We all make mistakes. This is not one of those times. My heart is broken for everyone involved. if you get anything out of this post. Get the truth.”
While Jim maintains there’s no truth to Meghan’s claims, earlier this year he did admit to exchanging explicit text messages with another woman while his then-wife was heavily pregnant with their second child.
“I engaged in an inappropriate conversation with this person,” Jim told Us Weekly on June 13. “At no time was there any type of relationship or physical contact. Absolutely none. This is someone trying to profit from my name. I am aware she has done this to others in the past.”
Meghan later blogged about the experience, admitting Jim tried to play the situation down.
“Do I believe him? I don’t know. Because I don’t trust him anymore. Physical or not, he still had an affair and he admits this to me,” she said, adding, “A relationship takes two but it doesn’t take two to cheat. Ultimately, I have hope our marriage can recover.”
“I think after such a breach of trust, it’s so hard to rebuild from there, especially [with] so many distractions, like our son’s health problems and two other little babies as well. And so to focus on the two of us as a couple is really hard,” Meghan also told Bravo’s The Daily Dish.
“We built a life together and there are so many lives that would be affected. I’m hurt right now and our life is massively affected, but if we were to split just because of his indiscretion, then there’s multiple other people who are affected, as well. So I owe it to not only myself and the commitment I made to my marriage to work on it, but I owe it to my children.”
According to Us Weekly, a day after celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary, Jim filed for divorce after the pair got into an argument so heated, the police were called.
“Meghan and Jim have been fighting,” the source told Us days after Meghan revealed she and Jim were in counselling to try and repair their damaged relationship. “The latest fight began when he went to a recent hockey game and she began interrogating him about who he went with.”
The former couple share three children together— Aspen, two-and-a-half, and one-year-old twin sons Hayes and Hart.
