Kaley Cuoco’s love of animals is well documented.
The actress, 30, who plays Penny on hit TV show The Big Bang Theory regularly spends time with her horses, Netty and Zaza, alongside equestrian beau Karl Cook, 25, even competing in a recent equestrian event at Paso Robles.
“Yes Zaza, you are beautiful”
Now Cuoco has weighed in on the Cincinnati Zoo debate after Harambe the Gorilla was shot dead on May 28.
Posting to Instagram, the comedienne wrote that she was prepared to receive ‘hate’ for expressing her views, but she was glad “that amazing creature doesn’t have to live in captivity another day.”
The post attracted more than 5,000 comments, prompting a robust discussion about captivity and the role of zoos in animal welfare.
It’s not the first time this week Cuoco has expressed her anti-zoo view—on May 24 she took to social media to vent outrage at two lions being shot after a man, who had jumped into their cage, was mauled. “This is beyond disgusting in every way possible. I know the more I say, the more trouble I will get into but seriously what is this world coming to?? (sic)”
Cuoco’s Instagram handle @normancook was named after her dog Norman.
“Oh Norman melt my *heart emoji*
