Season three of Stranger Things was full of character developments worth writing home about.
And one character that went UP in our books was Mrs. Karen Wheeler – Mike and Nancy Wheeler’s mum, played by Cara Buono.
In season one and two, Mrs. Wheeler had a strained relationship with daughter Nancy (played by Natalia Dyer), most times being an over-bearing, over-protective mum.
However, season three has transformed Karen into a feminist icon that pushed her daughter to pursue her instincts, all while wearing a VAGINA NECKLACE.

In “Chapter Four: The Sauna Test,” Karen has a heart to heart with Nancy about her ambition to be a journalist and how her job is panning out.
If you look closely, you can see the vagina necklace – with added pearl for effect.
Fans noticed the detail, showing support for the accessory choice.
The necklace clearly makes a feminist statement, especially since she’s wearing it while giving her daughter the pep-talk she needs. Or, it could just be a subliminal message for Billy.
Either way, we’re here for it.
