He is on Australian television screens every morning, but there’s something about Karl Stefanovic that everyone has gotten wrong.
In an interview with Nova’s Kate, Time & Marty radio show, the Today host revealed that his surname was changed when he was younger because of problems at school.
“Is there a Serbian version of Stefanovic? Have we tidied it up for the Anglo world we live in?” Marty Sheargold asked Stefanovic, 42.
“Yes — Stef-AHN-o-VICH,” he responded, revealing his father “changed it to Stefanovic” because “it sounded more Australian.”

The father-of-three also revealed that he has a southern cross tattoo.
“Yeah I do — Aussie as!” he said.
