Kate Beckinsale revealed the reason she occasionally sends her 17-year-old daughter, Lily Mo Sheen, nude pics of the girl’s father in an interview on US chat show Conan this week.
Quizzing the 42-year-old English actress, late-night host Conan O’Brien said, “Apparently your daughter, as we know is now 17, likes to occasionally go on the internet and Google ‘Michael Sheen naked.’ ”
In response, Beckinsale said, “See you’ve made that sound creepy, and I remember when [Michael] was on [this show] and he said that, he made it sound creepy.”
The Aviator star made it clear that the situation was in no way inappropriate, and she was referring to one specific photo. “My daughter and I are both from the school where we find a naked man very funny, under the right circumstances. It’s funny!” Beckinsale said. “They have a still of him, from a show he was in, getting out of the bathtub naked with a quite military face and stance, which is just funny. So sometimes, in a low moment, she’ll text me that picture or I’ll text it to her. If I sense that she’s feeling low, I think, ‘You know what, she could use ‘Mike in the bath.’ It works very well most times.”
Welsh actor Sheen and Beckinsale were in a relationship for eight years and split in 2003. Despite the split, the pair remain close friends. Recently, Beckinsale re-created the family’s birth photo of their daughter and shared it on social media.
The actress met director Len Wiseman on the set of Underworld in 2003 and they married in 2004, but split last year after 11 years of marriage.
