Appearing on the talk show with her brother and Sibling Revelry podcast co-host, Oliver Hudson, she told James Corden:
“I’m so excited, and I’m just excited that I actually took the time to really do it and to do it right, which was something that, for me, was always important. There was no phoning it in.”
The 43-year-old actress also shared that she wrote some of the music with her partner Danny Fujikawa and legendary singer/songwriter, Linda Perry.
“I wrote everything. I wrote every lyric. I wrote with Linda Perry – it was amazing – and my partner, Danny,” she said. “We wrote, like, 25 songs, and so the hard part has been sort of figuring out what that looks like. But it’s been the best.”
The actress added that, although there was no definite release date yet, she expected the album would be out by autumn or winter in the United States.
As for her song writing partner, Kate may have some hits on her hands thanks to verified music industry legend Linda Perry.
Fans may know Linda as the iconic lead singer of rock band 4 Non Blondes, but she’s also written some of the biggest pop hits of the past two decades.
Her list of epic songwriting credits includes Christina Aguilera’s ‘Beautiful’ and ‘Candyman’, ‘Get the Party Started’ by Pink and ‘What You Waiting For?’ by Gwen Stefani.
In 2015, Perry was inducted into the songwriters Hall of Fame.
