The movie, which stars Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey quickly became an iconic chick flick thanks to the hilarious script and sizzling on-screen chemistry.

Kate Hudson recently took to Tik Tok to confirm a now-viral theory from Raven Stone which emphasises the importance of Andie’s hairstyles throughout the movie.

“OK, so I was watching this on a plane, and I couldn’t help but notice that Andie’s hair is straight for most of the movie. Straight, every single time we see her researching her article, messing with Ben, she’s Andie Anderson, ‘How To’ girl,” Raven explains in the original video.

“But we know that Andie Anderson doesn’t want to be Andie Anderson, ‘How To’ girl. She wants to write about stuff that matters, like politics and current affairs,” Raven continues.

“Sure enough, every single time her hair is curly, she is vulnerable, her walls are down, she is real. She’s not Andie Anderson, ‘How To’ girl. She is Andie Anderson, the writer.”

Raven rounds out their theory with an impressive conclusion – pointing out that Andie’s hair is curly for the rest of the movie after the disastrous diamond party where the truth comes out because she doesn’t need to pretend anymore.

Hundreds of fans quickly jumped onto the credible theory, surprised that they hadn’t noticed the detail themselves – and now Kate Hudson has duetted the video on Tik Tok.

“And Kate, if you see this, am I right? Am I close?” asks Raven at the end of the video, with Kate giving a thumbs up in reply.

Whilst How to Lose a Guy in 10 days wasn’t necessarily a box-office hit when it was released, it’s definitely stood the test of time and continues to be ranked highly in rom-com lists

Director Donald Petrie told E! News in 2021 what he believed was the secret behind the movie’s success.

“Unlike a lot of rom-coms, it really said something about men and women, and ‘men are from Mars, women are from Venus,’ and how we react opposite each other,” he explained.

“Men liked it as much as women did, which is not always the case with rom-coms.”
