Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are one of Hollywood’s most charming couples, but the singer believes that even she has found something she doesn’t appreciate about her boyfriend.
Speaking to Women’s Wear Daily, Perry, 31, complained about the distance between her Los Angeles home and Malibu, where her actor beau, 39, lives.
“My boyfriend lives in Malibu, and getting used to that [drive] was like, ‘Are you kidding me? What kind of life is this?'” she said on Monday, September 5.
Perry – who grew up in Santa Barbara which is just over an hour away from Malibu – has been making more trips back home when she stops by Bloom’s beachside home. “There’s no pop-over and I never really got used to Malibu ’cause it’s halfway to Santa Barbara, so I’m always just going to Santa Barbara then,” she explained. “I get the whole ‘coming to L.A. and living by the beach’ thing. But it’s really like, it’s so far, nobody [who lives in town] is going to come see you.”
Although the pop star feels inconvenienced, she told WWD that she and Bloom visit her family home together.
“I still spend a lot of time there because I grew up there,” she said.”I grew up in the poorest part of Santa Barbara… Actually my boyfriend didn’t even believe me and I was like, ‘I’m going to drive you by my house’ and you can Google Earth it.”
Bloom and Perry have been dating since hitting it off at the Golden Globe Awards this past January.
