Former Bachelor in Paradise star Keira Maguire has given us an inside look into what life is like on the Island. And by the sounds of it, things aren’t that glamorous.

Speaking on her popular podcast, The Buzz, the reality TV star revealed the brutal and somewhat embarrassing process contestants on the hit series have to go through if they want to take their romance to the next level and have, ahem, sex.

“On the island, you need to physically ask the producers for consent – you need to actually say [it] to the camera,” she told co-hosts Mikkayla Mossop and Joey Carroll.

So, if you’re walking into a room and the producers see you, they get the camera out and say, “You need to say to the camera, ‘I give consent'” to have any kind of sexual intercourse,” she revealed.

According to Keira, producers implemented the awkward rule after two contestants on the American version of Bachelor in Paradise got it on in the spa while overly intoxicated.

Once a contestant on the series, Keira opened up about her time on the Fijian island admitting that when she went into her room with boyfriend Jarrod Woodgate, producers had placed condoms on over her dressers.

“I was like “oh my god,” I know you’re trying to practice safe sex but really,” she said.

Despite the temptation, Keira revealed she refused to sleep with her boyfriend while.

“I can tell you right now that Jarrod and I did not have sex on that island. There was no way that was going to happen. And we were there for the whole two months, so if we can hold it together, so can they,” she said before adding, “having sex on reality TV is the lowest barrel you can scrape.”

You tell them, Keira!
