To celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary, Keith Urban has shared a photo that was taken just minutes after he first met Nicole Kidman.
The picture, which surfaced on Urban’s Instagram, was reportedly taken at an event called G’Day LA in 2005. The couple wedded just over a year later on June 25, 2006.
Urban posted the following picture with the caption, ‘Our very first photo together 2005, minutes after being introduced to each other. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BABY. LOOOOOOOOVE YOU!!!!!!!!! xxxxxxxxx – KU’
Keith wrote a duet with Carrie Underwood, ‘The Fighter’, which he has openly admitted is about the beginning of his relationship with Nicole. The couple released their own carpool karaoke type video, which features them both playfully singing and lip-syncing to the song.
Urban previously revealed on the Oprah Winfrey Show how nervous he was when he first met Kidman back in 2005.
“There was a split moment where she wasn’t with anybody and there was nobody around and I thought, ‘Oh, I’ll just go up and say hi,'” he said. “And I plucked up the courage to go and do it very nervously and trying to be all cool. She was very pleasant and everything. There was that moment of waiting for the next thing to be said, at which I didn’t know if I was bothering her or what was going on, so I just sort of said, ‘Well, nice to meet you’ and I walked away.”
“And she stood there for a moment and she walked away and then I thought, ‘Was I supposed to say more?’ A friend of mine said, ‘I think she wanted to talk to you,'” he continued. “I went back over and apologized and we just started talking and just really clicked.”
Urban and Kidman didn’t waste any time and soon began dating. They later married on June 25, 2006 at a church in Sydney. Keith and Nicole now also share two children, Sunday Rose, 7, and Faith Margaret, 5.
